Calculated with the Grossmann method in ASTM A255: ideal diameter DI from chemistry (grain size 7 assumed, no boron factor), initial hardness from carbon, then division factors by distance. Treat it as a screen with about ±3 HRC uncertainty; the measured end-quench result on the cert decides acceptance.
